Masked

So, this is my first poem that I will be posting. This is one of many that I have written so far the past few months. Enjoy!! :)

Walking into a ballroom,
the lights are dimmed low.
Hearing the sounds of the music,
feeling a loss of control.

Seeing masks aplenty,
no identity is known.
A mystery for a night,
no judgement to own.

All expectations are gone,
no feelings hidden.
The dream of a love,
that is to be forbidden.

Dancing with the music,
I feel at peace.
Until I felt a presence,
that made me feel more at ease.

A hand took my own,
spinning me around many times.
I look up to see a man in a mask,
surrounding heated eyes.

This stranger took me,
for a spin around the floor.
He kept me close,
then took me to a door.

I can see a curtain,
red with gold adorned.
Temptation waiting,
but be warned.
